Snacking can be an issue when going on a healthy eating plan.

Snacking on foods that are healthy and doesnt take like cardboard can be an issue.

In this blog post I will post recipe ideas and snack ideas that you can have and enjoy without feeling guilty.

Here are some ideas to help you on your journey:


  • Peanut Butter cookies (refer to recipe): These cookies are a healthier version, low GI, gluten free and delicious, having one with coffee is enough to stop those sugar cravings. 
  • Low Fat Greek style yoghurt: Thick, delicious and full of protein this is the perfect snack to keep you fuller for longer
  • Fruit: healthy and delicious
  • Nuts and seeds: Full of good fat, and high in protein you will feel fuller for longer when having nuts with your fruit 
  • Carrot and celery sticks with hummus: Delicious, low fat and high in protein 
  • Spiral Wraps: full of veggies, these wraps are delicious 
  • Smoothies: great way to get your intake of fruit and vegetables on the run 

Here are some snack  recipes to try and enjoy during your get ready for summer transformation: 

Peanut butter cookies: 

Ingredients: 

1 cup natural (no sugar or salt) peanut butter
1 cup coconut sugar 
1 egg 
1 teaspoon baking powder

Method:

1) preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius 
2) beat together the sugar and peanut butter till creamy 
3) beat the egg and add it to the mixture 
4) add 1 teaspoon baking powder to the mixture 
5) take a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into balls. Put on a lined baking sheet and press down with a fork 
6) bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until it browns along the edges. 
7) let it cool and dig in. Perfect with a cup of herbal tea 

Veggie Spiral Wraps:

Ingredients: 
1/2 cup low fat cream cheese
2 mountain bread wraps
Shredded carrots (as much as you like)
Been sprouts (as much as you like)
Cabbage 

Method: 
1) Spread the cream cheese on the mountain bread
2) Put the veggies and wrap tightly 
3) Cut into portions and enjoy
