With the obsession of weight loss increasing, the world is becoming more confused about healthy eating and what is considered healthy. We are told we cant have carbohydrates, we cant have too much protein, some good fats aint actually good etc. With all this mixed information, people are becoming confused and its indeed affecting peoples health on both sides of the scale.

Many people want to lose weight fast, and when that doesnt happen they go from diet to diet in search for the quick fix that they are after. Unfortunately there are some people that become desperate and turn to bulimia, anorexia and chew and spit to lose weight. This has damaging effects to their bodies and are literately starving themselves to death if nothing is done to help these people.

While some are striving for perfection, there are people who are rebelling against health and are striving to gain weight. These people have usually been bullied at one stage about their weight, got confused about what to do in terms of health and now think "the bigger, the better", when in fact they are slowly killing themselves with food.

On top of all this, there are some weight loss programs out there that advertise how "hard it is to lose weight" and only their program works. No wonder so many people are confused on the subject of health and healthy eating.

I am here to tell you healthy eating and being the best you can be isnt as complex as it seems.

There is one basic rule for anyone who is overweight or even underweight that everyone must follow:

Eat whole foods and cut out the processed foods
I know what you may be thinking? How does this help someone who is underweight?
People who are naturally underweight normally have been that way most of their lives, for the people who are underweight due to illness or eating disorders can gain it back quite quickly once recovered but the people who are naturally underweight cant gain weight as easily.

By having processed and junk food it doesnt put weight on in terms of kilos but it does still put fat around their organs and their heart and it still can contribute to illnesses like diabetes and heart disease, you just cant see it.

These people need to increase their good foods and eliminate processed foods and adding weight training to the mix they can indeed gain healthy weight.

For the people who are overweight it can be just as easy, eliminating the processed foods and increasing whole foods such as fruit, vegetables, whole grains, protein and foods rich in omega 3.

Sounds simple right? Well it is once you have the right head space. Emotional eating is very common, and is a big factor when it comes to weight gain. Stress, due to work, family, relationships or even money can cause people to eat for comfort instead of eating to live and to nourish your body.

The truth of the matter is that healthy eating is easy and simple, with the abundance of weight loss quick fix solutions out there, combined with stress of daily life and frustration that the quick fixes dont actually work a simple thing of eating well and exercising has become complex and difficult.

We need to get back to the basics and do whats best for our body and minds, eating well and exercising 3 times per week. If we all do this, we will indeed have quality of life and healthy bodies which is more important then body image and how we look in clothes.

With quality of life, comes opportunities and dreams become realities because the energy and stamina is there to help you reach your goals and ambitions, and that is the truth about health.
