When life gets overwhelming, when things dont go right or when someone constantly puts you down it is easy to turn to things that makes you feel at ease such as smoking, emotional eating, drugs and so on. 

These things are short term relief but it doesnt make the situation any better nor does it help you in the long term.

There have been cases where people that have done the wrong thing in your life wont acknowledge what they have done or wont apologize. Some people think they are helping you but in reality they are making the situation worse.    

No matter what the situation or how stressful, you have to take control in your own life, otherwise you will regret it in the long term. 

Focusing on you and your health isnt a bad thing and its not being selfish, its a good thing. 
Taking control of your own life is doing what is right for you, your health and your happiness.
